PELLESCURA 1464 is a cross-cultural art and space studio born at the meeting point of East and West – where Italy and China, painting and architecture, tradition and contemporary life intersect.

We treat painting with an almost architectural discipline.

Each work is built slowly, layer by layer – through structure, geometry, memory and hand-crafted detail.

What begins as a sketch of space and rhythm becomes a visual “map” of identity, time and emotion.

Our practice moves between:

  • Large-scale acrylic paintings with a strong geometric and symbolic structure
  • Art-driven interiors and curated spaces, where artworks, materials and light form one continuous language
  • Limited collections of crafted objects and furniture, created with selected ateliers in Italy and China

Across all of these, we seek the same thing:

a visual language that is calm on the surface, deeply layered underneath.

Our work combines:

  • the rhythm and restraint of Italian and Mediterranean aesthetics
  • the depth and inner vision of Chinese cultural thought
  • a respect for time, craft and material honesty

We prefer slow, hand-made, quietly enduring work over quick effects or trends.

Each painting, each space is conceived as a long-term companion – something that can stay with a person, a family or a place for many years.

To create works and spaces that truly carry a soul – so that art is not only seen, but becomes part of how we live.

Founders & Studio Story

PELLESCURA 1464 grew out of a long conversation between a few people who shared the same question:

how can art, architecture and cultural memory live together in a more honest way?

The studio was founded by Greek-Italian creative director Gigi and Chinese artist couple Elias and Sofia.

Our Experience

Together they bring decades of experience in:

  • fine art and large-scale painting
  • architecture and interiors
  • material research, craft and cross-border production
  • living and working between Europe and China for many years

Their paths have crossed Venetian studios, Chinese classical culture, contemporary cities and, most recently, the mountains and urban fabric of Armenia.

These lived experiences have been distilled into the visual language and spatial practice of PELLESCURA 1464.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy as a team is very firm:

  • We do not chase noise, trends or fast decoration.
  • We care about structure, time, material honesty and human dignity.
  • We believe every serious project – a painting, a home, a hotel, a public space – deserves the same depth of thought.

For us, art and life are not two separate lines – they slowly weave into each other.

Each space, each work, becomes a story about people, culture and time.
