Caffè Florian in just a coffee shop , is an institution . It is the oldest cafe in Italy and one of the oldest in the entire world. Florian opened its doors to artists and intellectuals for the first time in 1720.
The Caffè was frequented initially by notable people including Goethe, and Casanova, who was attracted by the fact that Caffè Florian was the only coffee house that allowed women.Together with them Lord Byron, Marcel Proust, and Charles Dickens, should I keep going?
You might be wondering why this cafe is so special. Everything inside the Florian is a piece of art, every room has its own paintings, style, and lot of mirrors, plus Roccoco decorations. On top of that, an orchestra delights the customers sitting in the square San Marco.
